Chapter listing

The Wings of Change (TWoC) takes place on Maerd a world filled with magic and the appropriate aftereffects. It focusses on fantastic characters dredged from my imagination and their interactions. These are misfits, displaced, special or unique in one way or another. Because of this there are times when their antics are humerous, and reflections that show the more serious side of life.

This is very much an ongoing story, and it will end eventually. Though that will probably take a while. To go to the first comic in a chapter, click on the image to either side.

Chapt 00:

"Prelude"

Length: 5

Content: The Cartoonist and Muse work to keep Maerd safe from intruders before the comic even starts.

Goal: To show the comic at work.

Check out The Framed Escape if you can for this to make a little more sense.

Chapt 01:

"Thud begins"

Length: 35

Content: Several lives and destinies collide quite literally. Rangers, ancient treaties, talking trees, animals, tragedies, and pixies appear within.

Goal: To introduce the world, main characters, and scenario.

Chapt 02:

"Possessed"

Length: 14

Content: New characters. New place. New situation. Priests, gods, prophecies, and possessions cause even more trouble when the key can't be seen.

Goal: To show a bit of structure and underlying mystery in Maerd.

Chapt 03:

"A new day"

Length: 29

Content: A few things are hinted at and a few more are explained. Events start pretty quietly and then escalate with misconceptions, misunderstandings, and little mischievous misfits.

Goal: To show more of the character backgrounds and inner turmoil than was in the first chapter.

Chapt 04:

"The Fair Gods"

Length: 10

Content: Scene change yet again, this time for a rather light scene. A few fun games, mind sports, and pranks.

Goal: To show the people behind the masks, who are these Gods anyways?

Chapt 05:

"Chasing pixies"

Length: 20

Content: An explosive situation. Pixies are on the loose and hyper, so someone has to go to the rescue. But this rescuer takes a very unfamiliar form.

Goal: To show the mysterious nature of pixies and the hinting of their secrets.

Chapt 06:

"Mixed life"

Length: 13

Content: Visiting some familiar situations. Does one dare to take the chance to follow their dreams? Can their dreams become a reality? Will prejudice and fears halt their road? Can a guy have a period?

Goal: To show the varied types of life on Maerd and start intermixing scenarios.

Chapt 07:

"Tripping rats"

Length: 30

Content: Trapped in a cave, how else can one fight back the hungry denizens than chemical warfare and Hallucinogens? Well, several ways, but not quite as freaky and fun as this.

Goal: To show a hint of the past and the mysteries of the present.

Chapt 08:

"Burdens"

Length: 23?

Content: As the day continues on, burdens come and go in many different ways. Some are revisited, some are gained, and others get removed altogether. However, some burdens can be coped more easily than others.

Goal: To face some more serious things, build turmoil, show Hazel's quirks.

Chapt 09:

"Fangs and Thorns"

Length: ?!?

Content: Bwahaha...

Goal: To bring about a few action scenes and introduce new characters.
